IT IS HERE: 100 DAYS

The media loves Obama. Studies show that he has received more positive media coverage in his first 100 days than Clinton and Bush combined. This is easy to understand. The media had a large part in creating Barack Obama. Bernie Goldberg had it right with the title of his book, "A Slobbering Love Affair." Since the media had a large part in creating Obama, accepting the fact that he is less than a stellar president constitutes an admission that the media got it wrong. Not gonna happen.

So .. just how do you grade these first 100 days? Do you judge Obama by the goals he set for himself? Or do you judge him by what you would have liked for him to do. From Obama's perspective, the first 100 days have been immensely successful.

Obama wanted to begin a new era of dependence on government, and that he has done. Across this country there are people just sitting and waiting for Obama to come rescue them from their own fiscal irresponsibility.

Obama wanted to go on a world apology tour. Lord knows he was a raging success with that.

Obama wanted to denigrate the private sector and present government as the solution to all problems great and small. Another raging success. After 100 days of Barack Obama the newspapers and magazines are full of stories about the death of capitalism and the evils of the private sector.

You believe in socialism? A great first 100 days.
You believe in capitalism? A horrible first 100 days.
You believe in individualism? A bad first 100 days.
You believe in collectivism? A grand first 100 days.
You're proud of your country? A depressing first 100 days.
You think your country is the focus of evil? A wonderful first 100 days.
You believe in federalism? The first 100 days were a disaster.
You believe in an omnipotent federal government? The first 100 days were wonderful.
You think a president should be elected on substance? Bad first 100.
You think a president should be elected on style? Great first 100.

Perhaps you can add to the list through your comments.

  2. I just picked up my crystal ball, which, as I said two days ago, was in the shop for repairs. I thought it had been damaged by my attempts to look five years into the future and check the list of remaining American Freedoms. I thought it was damaged because I kept getting the message, “No freedoms found”. When I picked it up today, the technician told me it was functioning perfectly. Hmmmmm.
