Some friends of mine today went to the theater to see the movie, “The Watchman”.
The preview looked interesting, but I figured they could enjoy, and I would wait for it to come out on DVD. The one friend, who turned 18 a few months ago, brought some of his friends, and their family members who were between the ages of 15 to 17. The theater would not let them in, because of being under age, and “The Watchman” is rated “R”. Though my friend was eighteen, old enough vote, and old enough to enlist and serve or god forbid die for his country, he could not take three 15 year olds into a theater to watch a movie. He needed to be the guardian of the kids, not a friend who met the age requirement. To make a long story short, I had to drive up their, purchase the tickets, and watch it with them. The funny thing is that those 15 year old kids, I never met them before…I am not a guardian either, but they let them in.
This is part of the stupidity of what I like to call Modern Liberalism, in a Politically Correct World. If your 18, you cannot watch a movie with a group of 15 year olds, but you can sleep with a 15 year old girl legally, get her pregnant, and can go into a clinic and get an abortion without parental consent, and the records are sealed. Plus the local Government "Public" School will arrange it for you.WTF.
This is my rant of the day. Oh, and the movie to me was not that good, but the other people loved it. Now I have wasted three hours of my life, that I could have been cleaning or making a good dinner, but that is the inconvenience of Liberalism for you.
