Wonderful...2 trillion more dollars to pay for something that the Sun is doing, yet it is being blamed on man. Get real people. Do some true research on Global Warming, or Climate change. Whatever you want to call it. It is a natural cycle. Man has little to no affect on what the Earth and Solar System does.
Lets put it in simple terms for you.
The founder of Green Peace left because it was becoming radical.
Global Warming activism became over-loaded starting in the early 1990's.
Lets put 2 and 2 together:
1991: The Soviet Union (Union of Soviet Socialist Republic) falls, and becomes a Capitalist Country.
The Socialists still exist. They did not die with the Government Collapse. They had to move-on.
Where could they go, or what organization could they enter into that would help promote their agenda's?
What is their Agenda?
Destruction of Capitalism by controlling Private Industry, Government oversight and control of individualism.
Their Answer: The Climate Change Movement, and Al Gore.
