"Jock Sniffers" Take Headlines Again

I am going to try and not seem heartless with this blog, but I am going to offend someone I am sure. But then again, that is a worthwhile goal to achieve from time to time.
If you click on the link above it will go into detail about the three men lost at sea in South Florida. The Coast Guard has called off the search. I begin by letting people know that I am not completely heartless by saying that I morn for the families who lost their sons on that boat.

This is going to be a double rant. One is on the media, and the other is on “Jock Sniffers”. Beginning with the media and how they reported this story. Two NFL Stars and Two other men missing at sea. I turned to CNN, FOX, and the entire local Yahoo’s, and the headline was the same. Tell me something. Since when did these two NFL Stars take priority over the other two missing men, one of which was found? Did the other two men not deserve to have their trade mentioned on TV? Why as a nation and people are we obsessed with Hollywood and Sport stars? Would such great attention be given to this boat if it had been a group of retired veterans going fishing, or some bus drivers? No! It would not have even been a headline in the national news. It is sick that we care more for the celebrity “Jock Sniffer” than we do the average Joe. The media is not exempt from this, Politicians are the worst. They want to distract us with games, so that the attention is away from them, and they can do what they please. What has PresBo been doing the past two days since this story broke?

The first successful politician to use games to distract the public was Julius Caesar. We remember what that result was, or should I say because there are many uneducated idiots in this country, that some remember what happened. Caesar came in, hijacked the Roman Republic, (the first stable Republic in World History), turned it into a dictatorship, to which four hundred years of imperial rule followed. Only two leaders at that time wanting Rome to return to a Republic. (If you are good with history, then you know which two I am talking about!)

Caesar said and I paraphrase: “Give them games and they will love you, give them sport and you may rule over them. Hale Caesar, for we who are about to die, salute you.”

The Gladiator ring may be gone, and a lot fewer people now die, but the sport remains, and the people follow it blindly, as the politician gets away with almost anything they want. Today it is a known fact that most people can name their favorite team’s players, and statistics, but cannot name their Congressman, two Senators, Governor, or Local and State Officials.

Am I saying to stop watching sports? No! Just pay attention to what matters, and keep vigil, for the sport is a distraction, that like a spider’s web can suck you in, and wrap lies around you. To the media, I say this: It was three Americans that lost their lives, not two NFL Stars and a third person. To the Newspapers…Yes it is great when your team wins, but post the damn picture and story in the sports section and leave the front page for real news. Phrase it as follows: “Boat capsizes, three feared dead, one is a fisherman, and the other two are affiliated with the NFL. Visit sports page to read full profile on the two NFL Players.” Then continue the front-page story with the Coast Guard and the rough sea…whatever!

P.S. The two Roman Emperors who wanted a return to the Republic were Claudius, and Marcus Aurelius. Both were murdered.
